Tax Justice

The Tax Justice Network - A worldwide organisation which acts as a hub for tax justice campaigners and a resource for the latest tax justice news. It is also home to the monthly 'Taxcast' podcast and the annually published 'Financial Secrecy Index' of tax havens.

Tax Justice UK - A UK-based Tax Justice campaigning group, with which the newly founded Church Action on TaxJustice (CAT) will act as an ecumenical partner. Has a particular focus on UK campaigns, research and advocacy.

Christian Aid - A well known Christian charity which aims to tackle global poverty - tax justice is just one of their many campaign fronts. We work closely with Christian Aid, and they are represented on our committee.

ActionAid - A global charity working to fight poverty and further human rights. They have been a huge part of the tax justice movement, particularly with regard to the effects of tax avoidance on Africa, with campaigns against Barclays, Associated British Foods and SABMiller.

Eurodad - a network of 48 NGOs from 19 European countries working on issues related to debt, development finance and poverty reduction. Frequently publishes reports on tax justice and is heavily involved in the campaign to get the EU to pass resolutions on automatic information exchange and country-by-country reporting.

Tax Research UK - The blog of Richard Murphy, chartered accountant, economist, anti-poverty campaigner and tax expert. Always informative and offers excellent analysis and critique of tax policy around the world.

The Fair Tax Mark - A campaign to introduce a label akin to the Fairtrade mark for businesses that are transparent in their accounting and pay their fair share of tax in the right place and at the right time.

Joint Public Issues Team - A coalition of the Baptist, Methodist and United Reformed Churches working on issues of justice and inequality. 

Central Finance Board - The Methodist church's investment body, which aims to combine practical solutions with Christian ethics. The current Chair of the Central Finance Board, Bill Seddon, spoke at MTJN's Methodist Conference 2016 Fringe Event. The text of his address can be found here.

Methodist Peace FellowshipAn association of Methodist pacifists within the wider Fellowship of Reconciliation, committed to the rejection of violence, reverence for life and respect for every human person.
