Tackling Tax Trickery

Tackling Tax Trickery: How can we dispel the myth that tax is avoidable?

The Methodist Tax Justice Network present their Fringe Event for the 2014 Methodist Conference in Birmingham. This event will take place at Solihull Methodist Church, a short bus ride from the conference venue at the NEC, on Friday 27th June, starting with tea and coffee at 7:45. The event will be chaired by former President of Conference Baroness Kathleen Richardson, and will feature guest speakers John Christensen of the Tax Justice Network and Lorely Burt MP (Lib Dem, Solihull). We will be using clips from the film 'The UK Gold' and research into the companies in which our church invests to inspire discussion on how we as a Church, a country and as individuals, can combat the damaging ethos that tax is an avoidable 'cost'.
